EVENT HISTORY
In 2013 Kim Guidry (USAF Retired) and Mark Stephens (USAF Retired) established the Veterans Day Golf Classic as a way to support and bring awareness to local Veteran related charities in the San Antonio area. Over the last two years the event has grown and we are excited about the future of the event. The first year we had only 40 golfers, but the second year, 2014, the response was overwhelming as we filled up the course with 144 golfers and sponsors.
In 2015, we continued to grow and improve the event, we introduced new and exciting activities for all the golfers. As always the focus was on celebrating and remembering our nation's heroes.
The 2016 Veterans Day Golf Classic was a celebration and a truly amazing golf event. We were excited to take the event to a new location and establish new relationships with worthy causes focused on supporting our nation's Veterans.
In 2017, the event partnered with Honor Flight San Antonio. The event was a great success and we were all humbled by having a WWII Veteran as our Honorary Chairman.
The 2018 Veterans Day Golf Classic benefited the Honor Flight San Antonio and the Military Agriculture. The event was exciting and fun for all as a Par 3 Challenge and Casino Experience raised $1000s for both charities.
Unfortunately in 2019 we had to cancel the event.
Even though 2020 has been a hugely difficult year for all Americans, we are excited to move forward with the 2020 Veterans Day Golf Classic as scheduled. The event is benefiting The Pink Berets and local Veterans.
2021 was one of the best years ever for the Veterans Day Golf Classic. We raised the most funds ever for the local charity and we had a full field of 120 golfers. For the first time we had an Open flight and a Ladies Flight for the competition. Fun was had by all and we only got more inspired to continue on this worthy mission.
2023 was the biggest and best Veterans day Golf Classic. 120 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day at the golf course and we raised funds for a local Veteran Charity.
The goal is to make the Veterans Day Golf Classic into the premier event in support of Veterans. Come join us as we add golf event sites around Texas and the entire nation.
